Dear Bruno,

Listen and listen good.. Keep this mail and information very confidential.

I am the new Information and Database analyst of the Treasury/Payment Investigation Department of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

I’m contacting you to stop you from any further contact with anybody whatsoever. This is because your fund is no longer in the previous bank where it was deposited. It is now in the suspense account of Central Bank of Nigeria within my payment desk. All the people you are contacting both your representing attorney and others are planning to use your good name and claim the fund against you. Even as I’m writing to you now,I’m the only recognized person you can ensure the transfer of the fund to your account as the chief database analyst.None of those people you are presently contacting have the legal right or authority to effect the transfer of the fund to your account. I have decided to contact you through this medium because in my further investigation,I found out that your claim is genuine with all legal backings apart from the above data irregularities and complications. Therefore, I’ve withdrawn my submission paper for conversion of the funds to the CBN Treasury, which several payments have suffered because of these fraud irregularities. I therefore contacted you on trust and with complete confidence that you should as a matter of ulmost importance, STOP any further contact with anybody, person or group including your so-called local attorney because apart from me,no other person can help you get the fund transfered to your account in your country.

REQUIREMENTS :

I want you to contact me upon reciept of this mail on 234 803 740 5020 so that I would guide you on how to get your fund directly transfered to your own norminated account at ease. I will personally get the above complications corrected at my own expense as soon as possible so that legal transfer of the fund to your account would commence. I can assure you that after the corrections, within 72 hours the fund must be in your designated account. I will oblige you with further information and would be glad you send your private telephone /facsimile number for easy and confidential communication. MY CONDITIONS : 1.After using my good office/position to accomplish the needful on your behalf, you shall give me 35% only of the total fund after transfer to your account. 2.Due to my position in government,I will prefer that you keep my involvement 100% secret and confidential even after the transfer is executed.

A stitch in time they say saves nine. This is the only reliable channel for you otherwise all other efforts MUST be in vain.

Dear Jean-Francois Lalande ,

There is no time to delay at all.

This is because CBN will commence all foriegn transfers nextweek for this year’s financial quater.I will like your fund to be on the first list of first batch transfer. Thus, there is every need that you make your email conversation as fast as possible. Well noted your willingness to do this business with me and agreeing to my terms and conditions. My lawyer shall very soon prepare a binding memorandium of understanding stating that you must give me my 35% as soon as the fund is transfered to your account.

Most Importantly, below is a draft letter which I expect you to prepare, sign and scan and send to the controller general of remittant dept. The letter should be sent to him via email attachment as they may reject fax copies of it for security reason.

Prepare and send the letter to him today as soon as you recieve the mail from me.Note very well the authenticating database information which I prepared in your name. There are very important so long as this transaction is concerned.

The controller General of Remittant Dept.have forwarded the letter to my desk here in the database room to analys and verify whether it is legitimate or not.

After the verification,I’m mandated to make recommendations and submit back to them.

As you can see,the whole bulk of the assignment rely so heavily on me because any recommendations I sent to that remain valid throughout the period the transfer is done and that will be what they will implement.

I will prepare the recommendation and sent to them first thing tomorrow mornning and as soon as you hear from them, please do not waste anytime in getting back to me before replying back to them.OK ?

Dear Jean,

As I recieved your letter today, I took a flight to the Federal High Court Abuja to enquiry on how to procure the fund ownership certificate. Below is the list which the court registrar handed over to me which you must settle before the certificate is given to me :

1.AFFIDAVIT REGISTRATION :USD4,500 2.OATH FEE :USD3,000 3.STAMP DUTY :USD2,500 TOTAL CHARGES :USD10.000

The above is a compulsory fee which you must send to them so that the certificate can be procured and send to the remittant dept to commence the transfer immediately.

Pleass arrange the amount you have now and send through Western Union Money Transfer to the below name and address :

MR.NDUKWE KALU NO.3 PRESIDENTIAL ROAD ENUGU.NIGERIA.

After sending the money,do send the following transfer information for easy collection of the money :

1.THE NAME AND ADDRESS OF THE SENDER 2.THE TEST QUESTION AND ANSWER OF THE TRANSFER 3.THE CONTROL NUMBER.

Send immediately the amount you have now and get back to me immediately.

The transfer suppose to take place today if the certificate is paid for. Regards,

Kentas

Hi,

I created an account in Western Union, so it took me some time. I added 7681 euros for covering the 10000 usd, I hope it’s ok for the conversion. I entered the informations you give me and the following :

> 1.THE NAME AND ADDRESS OF THE SENDER

The same I already sent you.

> 2.THE TEST QUESTION AND ANSWER OF THE TRANSFER

Question : What is a Gros-Naze blam ? Answer : A mega-bide assigned with a "Blam !" (underlined)

> 3.THE CONTROL NUMBER.

The MTCN is : 4800152334

I really hope it’s not too late today for the certificate. Please, send me an email if they have any trouble.

Why split the money ? I do not understand.

I checked again but it is rather late here. The time is about 5.0pm here and banks are closing for the day.As tomorrow and next tomorrow ae public Holiday, the next day is Saturday, and I will try again.Offices are open here on Saturday so I will try again.

There is no problem with the recipient’s name :NDUKWE KALU.It is a complete name.

But one thing I do not understand with your Western Union is that you said that you created an account containing 7681 Euros or USD10,000.I have not come across with that mode of creating an account to send money before.Money are sent to the benficiary directly to the person’s name and address and not by creating accounts.

Anywhere,I hope everything work out on Saturday mornning so that the certificate would be collected and send to the remittant Dept to effect the transfer without delay.

I hope by now you have sent the letter to Amos James informing him that the certificate is on the way.

Please include the address of the sender. Also,I tracked the information on the western union website you provided and there information is that there is no such transfer.Re-confirm it.

Go directly to your bank and withdraw the money, then go straight to any western union office and send the money to Nigeria using the name and the address I gave to you.

It is as simple as that.Opening an account with western union to transfer money cannot work which you have seen.

There is no much time to delay on this. You try your possible best to send the money to Nigeria so that we can secure the certificate, submit same to the remittant dept to commence the transfer to your account immediately.

Please try to see what you can do to settle this problem.

Dear Jean,

I have thought again and there is nothing I can do on getting Ndukwe Kalu’s ID.

We are not in the same business block. Why I’m with cbn, Mr.Ndukwe is with the burea of public Conduct in Abuja. He is highly placed worker of the commission and there is no how I can approach him to recieve his work ID.

I don’t know why things should not be moving well with you in sending the money to procure the required certificate that would commence the transfer directly to your account. And this is the first time I’m hearing that reciever ;s ID is required to send money.

It is your duty to talk sense to the western union officials to immediately send the money to the reciever to help you conclude with your business here. Why can’t you tell them that the business is deeply urgent and highly confidential ?.This way, they will be short of asking you more question.

Please try and see the best you can do to settle this problem once and for all.

I look forward to hearing favourably from you.

I failed yesterday to convince them about the lack of ID. They absolutely wanted any proof of what I was doing because I was a new customer and because they are afraid about the destination. Anyway, I got my plane to return here.

I decided to directly go to Abudja to pay myself Mr.Ndukwe, it will be more simple and I am sure it will be done. I went to Havas American Express office and get a ticket for Sunday. For the return, I have a ticketforWednesday and cannot get one earlier, because of the prices. Here a copy of the travel’s durations :

Départ :dim. 30 janvier 05

Départ:06:30, Cote D’Azur, Nice

Arrivée:20:55 , Abuja Int’l, Nigéria

Durée:14h25 + 1 escale(s)

Compagnie aérienne :KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

Prix : 2109,35 EUR **

So I will prepare my luggages tomorrow and arrive sunday. Today I have to quit now because INRIA is closing earlier on Friday.

I’ll be recognizing if you can get me at airport, as I am not used to travelling abroad Africa. Anyway, I’ll be soon concluding this certificate.

See you soon,

Jean-Francois.

My ticket (Thanks Opodo !) (PNG)

Dear Jean,

I contacted Mr.Ndukwe on the phone and he said that I should come to his office on Monday to collect the ID card and send to you so that you can forward same to the bank to make the transfer.

I think that is a safer approach but if you still want to come to Nigeria and make the payment directly, just scan and send your photo to me so that I will wait for you at the air port.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards,

Kentas

Ah ah ah !

Jean-Francois.

Dear Jean,

I just contacted Mr.Ndukwe and he said that nothing of that kind was recieved by him.

So he did not recieve anything from any wasetern union.

Mais qu’il lourd ! Je vais finir par m’énerver... Je suis sur qu’avec les millions qu’ils brassent, ils doivent bien pouvoir racler un fond de tiroir pour trouver 10000$... Mais bon.

Are you sure ? I checked and double checked and the 10000$ have been transfered. I called Western and they agree ! So what’s happening ? Are you sure we can trust Mr. Ndukwe ??

Transfer #4800155874

I will be away from my mail some days. Please, check the transfer with Mr. Ndukwe, I am afraid that he maid some error or grab the money without notifying us.

JF Lalande.

C’est vrai quoi, j’ai le droit à mes week-ends ! Et puis Ndukwe, j’ai pas confiance. A mon avis, il m’a tout piqué mes 10000$.

Dear Jean,

I want you to forward to me the official payment slip of the transfer from western union office where the payment was made. With that it would be very easy for me to trace the reciepient.

Without the slip, nothing can be done but with it,all things will work for better.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Kentas

*** TADAM ***

I am the spiritual son of Marcel Béliveau and the illegitimate grandmother of Francois Pérusse. You’ve been trapped by a Surprise-Surprise junk email. You spoke with a anti-spam robot which builds boats especially designed for huge evil spammers. Well done boy ! You pushed the robot’s algorithm until the final stage which finally sent you a French Slip. Great job !

The Gros-Naze team thanks you for your time. You contributed to a great article which will be published in a major journal (impact factor 48) on the net. You can find it here :

And a last thing : my first name is "Jean-Francois" and not "Jean" either "Bruno" or "Jea".

See you !

JF Lalande.
